Built For Veterans
Our physical-empowerment model was built with a Navy SEAL and shaped by veterans who have walked this path. Trauma-informed, active, and confidential.
Coverage For Those Who Served
We have real experience helping veterans and military families use their VA and TRICARE benefits for treatment. Every situation is different — the best next step is a quick, honest conversation with our admissions team.
We regularly work with TRICARE plans and can help you understand what your specific plan may cover for treatment.
We have experience coordinating care for veterans, including through the VA Community Care Network where eligible — and we will help you figure out what applies to you.
Benefits can be confusing and every case is different. Our admissions team will walk through your situation and options in plain terms — no pressure.
A Different Way to Get Sober
Addiction isn't a character flaw, and you're not weak. The same relentless drive that made it impossible to stop becomes your greatest advantage once it's pointed in the right direction. We don't pile on restrictions. We teach you to harness it and get more out of life.
That obsessive, never-satisfied drive is an evolutionary strength pointed at the wrong thing. We redirect it instead of trying to break you of it, so it works for you in recovery and in life.
Plenty of programs add on "holistic" and exercise. Here the active, physical model is the treatment, every workout, ice bath, sauna and ocean session has real clinical reasoning behind it.
The industry optimizes for billable hours and protocol. We optimize for the life you build after you leave, high-functioning and connected, not restricted. And we measure it.
A different approach, with the results to match:
Based on self-reported surveys of Tree House Recovery graduates. Every recovery is different and individual results vary.
Our Program
Abstinence is just the jumping-off point. To make change last, you have to build a life you're excited to lead, so each person's program draws from eight integrated, evidence-based modalities that rebuild the whole person.
Exercise-saturated training that restores brain chemistry and discipline. Scalable to any fitness level, we meet you where you are.
Process trauma and rewrite the story you tell yourself, turning painful history into a foundation for change.
Ocean, outdoor, and action-based experiential work tied to brain science and team dynamic. A differentiator no traditional center can match.
Private, focused sessions with licensed clinicians, built around your history, your goals, and your pace.
Honest conversation inside a trusted circle of peers.
Understand the science so relapse loses its grip.
Regulate the nervous system and quiet the cravings.
Apply new skills to daily life before you ever leave.
Veteran-Led & Trauma-Informed
Our physical-empowerment approach was built with Neil Trusso, a former Navy SEAL and veteran-affairs specialist who understands what it takes to serve — and what it takes to come back. It channels the discipline and drive that made you effective into recovery that lasts.
We treat addiction and trauma together, not separately. For many veterans, substance use is tangled up with PTSD, TBI, chronic pain, and the weight of what you carried home. Our trauma-informed clinicians address the whole picture.
This is not boot camp. It is structured, physical, and demanding in the ways that heal — paired with real clinical care and a team that has your six.

You recover inside a tight-knit team of people who hold each other accountable long after graduation.
Exercise-Saturated Milieu (ESM) rewires the brain's reward system and rebuilds confidence through physical strength.
Founded by someone who walked this path himself, our team gets it because they've lived it.
Small groups and one-on-one counseling mean a plan built around your strengths, never one-size-fits-all.
Structured aftercare and an active alumni network keep you connected to the tools, and the people, that work.

New to treatment? Here's the difference in plain terms. PHP (Partial Hospitalization) is full-time structure — your whole day is treatment. IOP (Intensive Outpatient) is part-time — a few focused sessions a week so you can keep working or studying. Most people start in one and step down to the next; an advisor helps you choose.

We coordinate safe, sober housing for clients who need it, so you can start treatment without having your living situation figured out. Focus on recovery; we'll handle the logistics.
Wilmington currently offers Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and outpatient care. PHP and housing options are coming soon — talk to an advisor and we'll match you to the right level of care, here or at a nearby Tree House location.
